Facial Cosmetic Surgery: The Importance of Nutrition and Supplements

This 60-minute webinar will discuss the importance of nutrition and supplements to optimize results of facial cosmetic surgery as well as non-surgical results. Discussion will include a nutritional review of macronutrients, micronutrients and supplements; which ones to increase and which ones to stay away from prior to surgery/anesthesia; and what to take to support speedy recovery. Management of patients taking herbal medications also will be discussed.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  1. Discuss a pre-op nutritional plan for patients undergoing facial esthetic procedures.
  2. Identify which supplements/herbal medications should be stopped prior to procedures due to potential for bruising/excess bleeding.
  3. Cite which supplements should be taken to maximize healing and speed up recovery.
