This 90-minute webinar will cover the correct coding principles and guidelines for diagnostic and procedure coding seen most often in OMS practices, including oral pathology, radiology and trauma. Participants will be guided through scenarios for all these topics, when and how to use modifiers appropriately and when to use a dental code vs. a medical code.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  1. Cite the differences between CPT and CDT coding for radiology services.
  2. Use a CMS 1500 form for trauma related services.
  3. Review the concepts for laterality for facial fractures and how to apply the appropriate modifiers and diagnosis codes.
  4. Discuss how to choose the appropriate CPT code for oral pathology procedures.
  5. Demonstrate how to choose the appropriate diagnosis code for pathology services.
