Protecting Your OMS Practice: 2020 HIPAA Compliance Requirements, Ransomware Attacks and Security

OMS offices are under constant attack. As HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules continue to change, this 90-minute webinar will provide the key HIPAA requirements needed for 2020. Discussion will include the No. 1 risk facing all practices, explain why practices are targeted and provide information to help identify vulnerabilities and prepare for a HIPAA audit. Key issues impacting OMS practices relating to Payment Card Industry (PCI) and OSHA compliance also will be addressed.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify common vulnerabilities that face OMS offices. 
  2. Explain requirements necessary to demonstrate HIPAA, OSHA and PCI compliance.
  3. Cite key steps to materially lower cybersecurity and non-compliance risk. 
  4. Review the importance of implementing a proper emergency and incident response plan. 
  5. Discuss how and why ransomware attacks are real threats.
