This lecture is intended only for back-office oral and maxillofacial surgery assistants (not for doctors) as OMS assistants can help prevent doctors from performing wrong-site surgery, wrong-person surgery and wrong-procedure surgery.

David Cummings, DDS

Dr. David Cummings completed his dental degree and residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at University of Southern California. The following year he completed a fellowship in reconstructive jaw surgery in Santa Barbara, Calif. He is a Diplomate of ABOMS and served as a Board Examiner for seven years. He is part of a group private practice that maintains full scope of OMS. He still enjoys teaching, and he has held a part-time faculty position at USC for the past 20 years. He also is President-Elect of the California Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
