E/M Coding Simplified: Guidelines for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Reporting evaluation and management services in oral and maxillofacial surgery involves various scenarios and guidelines that are crucial for accurate coding and billing. This 90-minute webinar will delve into the specifics of how OMS professionals report E/M services across different settings, including office and outpatient services, emergency room visits, inpatient follow-ups, and consultations versus evaluations/exams. These concepts will be illustrated by detailed explanations and practical examples of real-world applications.

At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  1. Understand how E/M services are reported across various settings, including office, outpatient, emergency and inpatient follow-ups, with attention to global period considerations.
  2. Differentiate between consultations and evaluations/exams by applying real-world referral scenarios to determine appropriate reporting.
