The HIPAA Privacy Rule grants patients a number of specific rights related to their protected health information (PHI). Understanding these rights and responding appropriately can mean the difference between an optimal patient experience and a complaint filed against a practice. This session will dispel common myths about sharing patient data among providers. The anticipated release of rule updates also will be discussed, along with the implications and changes for a practice.
*Indicates that this activity is approved by AAOMS for continuing dental education credit ONLY.
