Limited Vertical Bone in the Posterior Maxilla
Dental implants are a well-known, predictable and desirable treatment option for missing teeth. Although implant survival is extremely high, favorable outcomes depend greatly on proper case selection, diagnosis, treatment planning, surgical and prosthetic execution, and management of complications. Patients are continuously seeking more complicated treatment modalities, even in cases of inadequate bone or challenging locations such as the posterior maxilla. Treatment options for these types of cases include short implants, pterygoid implants, zygomatic implants, sinus augmentation and tilted implants. This 60-minute webinar will instruct the practicing OMS on achieving the most ideal and successful implant outcomes in the resorbed posterior maxilla.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Explain updates on diagnosis and treatment planning with implant solutions in the posterior maxilla.
- Discuss surgical techniques to treat the vertically challenged posterior maxilla, including tilted implants, zygomatic implants, pterygoid implants, sinus augmentation and short implants.
- Examine cases to demonstrate integration of new techniques, technologies and materials.
