OMS Practice Valuation Methodologies and Uses
This 90-minute webinar will deepen attendees’ knowledge of the practice valuation process and methodologies. Understanding how practices are valued and how valuation applies to practice management will help participants enhance their practice’s value, reinforce their risk planning and incorporate this value into their transition strategy. Other uses of a proper practice valuation – including capital structure, debt management, and disruption and estate planning – also will be covered.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Discuss the three most common practice valuation approaches.
- Examine how management decisions affect a practice’s value.
- Describe the use of practice valuations outside of transitions.
- Implement value protection strategies in a practice.
- Evaluate how the value of a practice affects the transition strategy.

Thomas M. Bodin, CFA, CFP(r), MBA
As a practice integration adviser at Buckingham Strategic Wealth, Thomas Bodin provides comprehensive financial advisory services such as tax, pension and retirement planning to dental and medical offices. Previously, he was the chief financial officer for the Office of the Indiana Attorney General. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Butler University and an MBA with certificates in finance and marketing from the University of Indianapolis.
