Resident Business Wellness Webinar: Contract Negotiations* - On Demand Access

The three-part Resident Business Wellness series begins with a 60-minute webinar focused on contract negotiations. Although OMS residency programs provide intensive training in medical knowledge and surgical skills, residents may feel they receive inadequate guidance regarding negotiating their contract when they apply for jobs post-residency. Additionally, residents may fear negative repercussions if they attempt to request any changes to the contract. This potential fear and lack of guidance can result in new OMSs accepting subpar contracts and/or experiencing significant anxiety and stress regarding this process. This webinar aims to provide residents with a basic understanding of contract negotiations as well as review common mistakes to avoid.

At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  1. Review common aspects of contract negotiations.
  2. Identify common mistakes new graduates make during contract negotiations.
  3. Provide recommendations for ways to negotiate contracts.
