Resident Wellness Webinar: Grit and Resiliency in Surgery

The three-part wellness webinar series begins with a 60-minute webinar focused on the importance of grit and resiliency. Grit can be defined as unrelenting courage when encountering adversity, while resiliency is the ability to overcome or easily adjust to an obstacle or change. Residents in surgery are familiar with the bar being set high, but they have to find ways to bounce back when the bar is not met. This webinar will review what it means to have grit and resilience, how to rebound from failure and ways to build and strengthen resilience and grit.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe resiliency and grit.
  2. Review how to change the mindset to overcome challenges and strengthen grit.
  3. Develop habits, skills and strategies to enhance resiliency.

This webinar is complimentary for AAOMS Members only and is not eligible for CE credit.
