Protecting long-term well-being and support career longevity with practical posture and ergonomic strategies designed for the daily demands of oral and maxillofacial surgery. This complimentary 60-minute webinar will provide an overview of proper postural alignment, illustrate aspects of suboptimal posture and shed light on some long-term effects of poor posture. Attendees will follow guided exercises and gain practical strategies for managing posture throughout the day.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Understand the importance of ergonomic education to reduce work-related musculoskeletal disorders.
- Review proper postural alignment and long-term implications of poor posture within the OMS profession.
- Incorporate recommended exercises for correcting poor posture and apply recommended tips for day-to-day maintenance.

Maya Brewer, MS
March Wellness & Fitness Center, Oregon Health & Science University
Maya Brewer, MS, oversees the Medical Exercise Program, a three-month program at the March Wellness & Fitness Center at Oregon Health & Science University designed for individuals with physical limitations or medical conditions who may benefit from and individualized exercise program. Brewer earned a master's degree in sports medicine - health and fitness and a bachelor's in sociology. She is certified through the American Council on Exercise and has been in the fitness industry for over 10 years as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor.
