The Nuts and Bolts of Mastering Modifiers - On Demand Bundle
Unlock the power of coding modifiers during an in-depth review of the accurate use of modifiers within the practice of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Modifiers are sets of two alpha-numeric characters that are appended to CPT and/or HCPCS codes on the medical billing claim form. Used for informational purposes (anatomy), pricing (changing how the code is paid) and claims processing (changing how claims processing edits apply), modifiers serve a variety of purposes. Participants will discuss common modifiers and how to identify when they are appropriately applied to avoid any misuse.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Identify when modifiers are appropriate or necessary to include on a claim.
- Summarize commonly used modifiers and describe their purpose.
- Recognize when modifiers may be inappropriate and avoid their misuse.
