Orthognathic Surgery for the OSA Patient

Orthognathic surgery plays a critical role in the management of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), particularly in patients with craniofacial skeletal deficiencies that are associated with upper airway collapse. This 60-minute live webinar will review how jaw structure can contribute to OSA, highlight patient selection criteria and discuss modern surgical approaches, most notably maxillomandibular advancement (MMA) and genioglossus advancement. Emphasis will be placed on airway-focused treatment planning, integration with sleep medicine/dentistry and evidence-based results, demonstrating how surgical treatment can reduce sleep apnea severity and improve overall quality of life.

Learning Objectives

Simulated emergency drills are an effective method to train the entire office team in unanticipated events that may occur in the OMS office.
